Andrew Robinson (Partner)
Andrew works in corporate tax, specialising in the
charity and not-for-profit sectors, with particular expertise in
social housing and education. Andrew also advises on regeneration
and PFI projects, as well as maintaining a portfolio of commercial
corporate clients, most of which have an international
dimension.
Experience
Andrew joined RSM Robson Rhodes in 1997, becoming part of Grant
Thornton when the firms merged in July 2007.
With over ten years experience in corporate tax, Andrew has been
responsible for the development of the provision of the firm's
direct tax services to its social housing clients across the south
of England. In addition, he leads the tax team based in the Hemel
Hempstead office, serving both commercial and not-for-profit
clients in that area.
Andrew's expertise covers:
- In the social housing sector, advice on tax efficient group
structures and minimising corporation tax and Stamp Duty Land Tax
costs associated with property development activities
- Tax planning in relation to large-scale regeneration projects
involving local authorities, commercial property developers and
social housing groups.
- Advice to public and private sector clients in connection with
projects under PFI and the Government's LIFT initiative.
- Tax planning at both corporate
and shareholder levels in relation to corporate transactions,
including acquisitions, disposals, demergers, fund raising and
flotations.
- Advice on cross-border transactions, in particular in-bound
investment from the USA, including advice to UK subsidiaries on US
reporting requirements such as FAS 109 and FIN 48.
