Steve Maslin (Partner)
Steve is currently Head of External Professional
Affairs and Chair of the Partnership Oversight Board in the UK,
having been the firm's Head of Assurance Services for 7 years,
until June 2006, and a member of the Audit & Assurance Advisory
Panel of Grant Thornton International. He represents Grant Thornton
internationally on audit and public policy matters through the
Global Public Policy Committee which comprises senior partners of
the world's 6 largest audit networks. In April he was elected to
chair the Policy & Regulatory Group which represents the 6
largest UK audit firms on public policy issues.
In 2010 Steve accepted an invitation to join the Working Group,
established by HRH Prince of Wales Accounting For Sustainability
Project, to set up an "International Connected Reporting Committee"
to drive globally recognised standards for sustainability
reporting.
Steve focussed on client service as the managing partner of the
West London office from 1993 to 1996 and the London Gatwick office
from 1996 to 1999 before taking up his first national role in July
1999. He was appointed a partner in 1990 and prior to that spent a
year on secondment to the National Audit Office helping to
modernise their audit of the Inland Revenue.
